A birthday, some pages, and fun!

Today is a great day!!! I woke up thinking about my beautiful baby girl who's celebrating a birthday!!! I can't believe it was 24 years ago that she came into this world and completely changed our lives. I love you my sweetness!

I'm looking forward to celebrating with her today.
Yesterday, I spent the day at an awesome crop with a lot of really cool people!!! I got to see the girls that I spent last weekend with. It was so great to spend the day with Gina again! We had so much fun! There was a masssage therapist and we treated each other two massages. LOL

I completed three projects. I forgot to take pictures of one because it was late but here are some pictures of the other two. I made it using Prima products that the company sent me. I also used Clearsnap, therm-o-web, Helmars, Sakura, May Arts, Crafters Workshop, Helmars, and more!!

So I'm now off to spend the day with my girl!!! Have a fabulous Sunday everyone!!!

favorites in my home

When I buy things at my favorite store, HOMEGOODS or at vintage shops ...I can tell you where the item is going to go in my house. I can vision where it will be placed and what I'm going to do with it.
These are some of my favorite things in my place.

My bedroom
My favorite thing in my room are my pillows. LOVE fluffy pillows. LOL

Here's a close up of my fluffies. :)

At night I put them on the side of my table.

This if my livingroom. This is what it looked like during Christmas. :)

I love this crate. I think that's what it's called. LOL I put in a lot of goodies.

I found this drawer at a sale in Sacramento. Fell in love instantly. The container in the very bottom is one that I got from one of the owners of WOW in England.

A fun little register I found in Niles area which is full of vintage shops.

I found these little spice containers and had to have them.

Love this typewriter that my dad gave me. He's had it for a long time.

My dining table. Love my dishes.

I wanted to put my towells in something. As soon as I found this wire thing I had to have it. It's not made for towells. It was in the office section. I wrote those words on the labels.

I found these containers the other day. Love them!!

Thanks for letting me share some of my favorite pieces in my house.

a weekend worth blogging about

It's 5:25pm....my day was spent in bed doing work for WOW Embossing Powders, helping the stores that I'm teaching at place orders for products I'll be using in class, and watching the Jodi Arias trial. LOL It kept me busy all day.

I just came back from a fantastic weekend being with friends!!! It was my birthday gift to myself. I want to thank my friends Angela and Ghia for putting this event together. It was so great!!! I loved it! I spent it with everyone but had special time with my girl, Gina Lideros. This is a picture of she and I in Homegoods....we went out to eat and it just so happen to be next to Homegoods so we went there and had fun doing a little bit of shopping.

Gina and I love to spend our birthdays together...We love so much of the similar things and she totally surprised me with the best gift ever!!!! She bought me a wireless printer. I had so much fun printing pictures that were on my iphone and ipad. Check out my instagram pictures. Thank you Gina!!!!

I made several things while I was there. I was on a mission to create with some awesome products. These two made their debut there.

I used these products along with my WOW EMBOSSING POWDERS, paints by ART ANTHOLOGY, and more!! Here's what I made with these bad boys.

I also made this fun book using random pieces of corrugated board.

I'm excited to be teaching these projects at a lot of my favorite scrapbook stores. I'll be announcing more stores very soon!! We are just finalizing all the projects.

Here are some favorite family photos from our Pier 39 day trip.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog. I appreciate it!! Please leave me a message.

Things that I love....

I was looking at some pictures of Sierra today and it just made me smile. I love my little girl!! The things she says and does are so amusing to me. I can listen to her all day! Especially if she's talking about things she feels strongly about. These are some pictures of her that I took last week.

On Saturday the boys stayed the night with us so Angel and Christian could go out on a date. I had so much fun with them. I love that in the morning they came flying into my room so they could snuggle and be silly. I got to snap these pictures of them.
I love frilly pillows! Don't know why...I just do. I can't stop buying them. I think there are about 17 pillows on my bed. Here are some of my favorites!!
I love my room! If I could live on my bed forever...I'd be okay with that. LOL I surround myself with all my pillows and blankets. LOL
One of my most favorite people to spend time with is my son. Now I know some of you won't believe this but this is the absolute truth...this guy is the best kid on the planet! NO JOKE!
I can honestly say that he has never once got into trouble....ever!
If there is anyone that anyone could ever trust with anything...it would be him!
I'm such a lucky person! I can honestly say that I have a great family!
My mom is my best friend on the planet!!
I love spending time with my friends Laila, Jen, and Gina!
Love texting with my girls Michelle and Elizabeth!
I love when I get to visit with my friends like Camille and Christine!!
There are so many others!
Thank you for reading my blog!! Please feel free to leave a comment! I promise to read them!!

Life is too short

Thirteen years ago (13 years, 3 months, and 2 days to be exact) I started a business in my GARAGE called, Bay Area Scrappers. When I was almost ready to open I created a flier and placed it at a scrapbook expo. It was the one and only time I advertised for my business.
I remember wondering if I would hear from anyone. I advertised it as a place where you could meet friends in more of a home setting so that you could feel like family.
Lo and behold I was amazed when I started getting phone calls and emails.
I remember one particular gal. She stood out to me for many reasons and because of those reasons we became good friends. We've attended parties together, we shared stories, we talked about religion, and I photographed her family. She was nuts thinking I could create a layout for ANY photo she gave me. LOL
Last night, I found out that she was terminally ill.
I read the email once, went to my room, closed the door, and cried.
This morning I went back to see if the email was still there or if it was a dream. I wasn't dreaming.
I don't know what to do as I know I can't help her get better physically.
I don't even know what to say to her. What do you say? I can't be selfish and just cry.
My heart is broken for her and her family.
Life is too short.

Picture heavy post!!!

Well it's been a long time since I posted last. I've been just a tad bit busy with traveling, teaching for WOW, holidays, and more.
Since I haven't posted in a long time, I wanted to show you some fun pictures. Hope you like.

Thanksgiving was different this year. We had it in my house. Everyone thought it was going to be weird since we have had it at my parents house since I was born.
I decorated my little heart out! So much fun!
I wanted it to feel very warm and inviting. I think it looked good. LOL I made fun place setting and candle holders for each of the tables.

I also had the front decorated for Christmas.
Our family is a little crazy! We had both a "regular" photo and a "fun" one.

I've shopped some with Angel and Paul for Christmas. If you know me, you know that the theme will always match through out the house, so my presents match my tree.
Here's what I did.

Just a TIP...notice I used the scotch package paper. It's over 75ft for less than $5.00. You can buy the same kind of paper in the Christmas section but it will cost you more because it's "Christmas" and it's only 25ft. Shop outside of holiday section.

I've been into baking for the holidays. YUMMY!!!

Love my cooling rack and spatula from Pampered Chef. Been using it a lot!! LOVE the holidays.
Little things that get me into the holiday spirit.
*listen to Christmas music all the time. If you are in the area...96.5 koit radio station...Christmas music non-stop!
*plan out 25 different holiday things to do with friends and family.
*get together with friends and family and do an ornament or cookie exchange.
*watch Christmas movies. One of my favorites--Muppets Christmas Carol!!
*see if you can create something together as a family. If you look at my Christmas tree...my kids and I made the garland together.

Hope your holiday season is amazing and full of love and memories.

Love to create and....WIN a canvas kit!

When I was young I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. For a long time the answer was teacher or Dr. but in my heart of hearts...I always wanted to be nothing other than a mom. I loved playing with my dolls and every time I saw a baby I wanted to keep it. LOL  As I got older I thought I better go to school to do something because being a mommy wasn't going to pay the bills. LOL I went to school to be a nurse and let me tell you...that didn't last long! LOL I realized early on that I didn't like blood. I also realized that being a teacher wouldn't work because I didn't like to study and do homework let alone get others to do the same. LOL In the end I went to school to learn business management.
Soon after I became a mom , I realized that yes, that's what I wanted to be. I LOVE being a mom. I  love hugging my kids and telling them over and over again how much I love them.
I also came to realize that I LOVE creating. It's been in me for a long time. I come from a family of extremely creative people. My grandma could cook, design, sew, crotchet, etc. My great uncle could also design and do other things. My dad is extremely creative with his hands and has designed beautiful things for my mom.
I love that I have two passions! My kids and designing. I love that both make my life complete.
My last post I said that I found a quote that I totally loved! It's probably my most favorite one in a long time. I feel that it fits me as an individual. I created a project using the quote. Hope you like it.
"She designed a life she loved"
I love working on canvas. For those that have been following my work for a long time know that I've published different books and designed my own canvases for many years.
I also love designing on books!! I mean...I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!
One of my last ones is this one
I'll be teaching this class plus others this weekend at Treasured Memories in Oak Park, Ca. I can't wait!! I have a lot of places that I'm going to be in the next couple months and I'm adding more for the next year. Keep coming back to see where I'll be.
So it's been a while since I did a give away.
For those of you that like the canvas and the book above...
Leave a comment and tell me which project you like and why and the winner will receive a kit!!
You have from now until Monday, October 8th to post.
Thanks for coming to read and check out my blog. I appreciate you leaving a comment.

My favorite new saying

The other day I found this saying and I totally and completely fell in love with it. Ready for it?
She designed a life she loved.
How cool is that?
It really got me thinking...how many of us are living the life that we love?
Realistically, it would be hard to have everything we ever wanted but if you think about it...why do we NEED to have everything?
I'm so happy to have a beautiful family, loving friends, a roof over my head, and I'm pretty healthy! That's all I really need.
Have a wonderful  week!
Hugs,
