Sandy Smiles...all finished

Yesterday I posted the cover of my beach themed book. I was almost done but not quite. So now I'm posting the entire book. I had a lot of fun creating it. I loved everything about it...the colors, the shapes, pictures, stickers, everything!! :)
I did a couple of things to the shape of the pages just to play around. I'll try to explain.
This first page. You can't really tell but it's a thin canvas page. Maybe when you click on the picture you will see it better. I added fun Bella Blvd. chipboard pieces and papers.
The original shape of the canvas page was bigger and was shaped like a bracket. I used the piece that I cut off to another page. You can see it in the back of the book.
Oh you can see the size of the canvas piece here on the left hand side. I added journaling to the back side of the page.
The two pieces to the right were one original chipboard page. It was long like the rest of the book. I cut the pieces to make them smaller. The bracket on the larger chipboard piece was already on the original piece.
The bracket canvas piece that I cut off on the first page, I added to the right side of this chipboard page. I wanted to keep this page simple to show off the beautiful picture.
I added glimmer mist by Tattered Angel's to this page. I love the color Sunflower. It's so pretty!
I took a lot of the round chipboard pieces plus others to decorate this border. I added twine to the buttons.
The last two pieces of this book I adhered together. I created the page on the acrylic piece. Glazed it with mod podge. I then used the last canvas sheet as a background. I adhered it from the backside.
So there's my book!!! Hope you like it.

Sandy Smiles Mini Book and scrapping time!

I was asked by a couple of scrappers to create a beach themed book.
So I thought about the pictures and remembered I had taken some fun ones of Sierra and her friend at the Santa Cruz beach boardwalk. I knew I had the perfect paper line, It's from Bella Blvd. It's their summer line.
It's so awesome! The colors are great and the embellishments are WOW!
I used one of our Punky Sprouts albums--Punk n' circumstance.
I started working on it at a crop that I went to today.
THANK YOU ANGELA!!! You rock lady!
I thought it might be hard to use because it had a lot of different shapes but I can honestly say it wasn't. I'm working on it right now and I'm almost done. I will be sure to post the rest of the pictures tomorrow when I am all done!!!
What do you think so far of the cover?

The quieter side of ME!

The quieter side of me!
Those that know me would say I'm crazy, loud, silly, wacky, and nuts!
Well the truth of the matter is that I am those things. LOL
What you might not know is that there is actually a quiet side of me too. STOP spitting out your drinks or falling over, It's true!!. LOL
I have a quiet side too. LOL It just hasn't been witnessed much by others.
When I'm alone, I really enjoy reading, meditating, and studying.
When I'm alone, I plan out my primary lessons that I love teaching to my wonderful 4 year old class at church.
When I'm in my quiet zone I think about everything around me. I give thanks to my Heavenly Father for the blessings he gives me on a daily basis.
I enjoy reading a good book and scrapbooking.
The quieter side of me has been teaching me to be more humble, patient, and to be more thankful for what I have. It's been helping me to become the person that I know my Heavenly Father wants me to be.
I actually love being wild and crazy! It's ME, but when that part of me is exhausted, LOL
I really love the quiet side of me.

Confessions of a teenage hottie!

The other day I decided to work with the NEW Punky Sprouts mini album. I looked at the pictures of my niece and new exactly what papers I wanted to use. They were the new ones from American Crafts that were given to me to play with.
I thought hard about the title and asked several friends and all were good but I looked at the pictures again and came up with this one. LOL
I love how this book came out. It was the first time I played with it and couldn't put it down. It has several pages but it actually didn't take me long to do.
I did part of it at a crop that I went to and then went home and finished it.
The book is from Punky Sprouts and the paper are American Crafts.

Thanks for looking!!

Families are FOREVER!!

I wanted to create a book for Angel and her family with some pictures I took a while ago. After I finished it, I decided to keep it. LOL I had fun creating this mini book by Punky Sprouts and older Pink Paislee. I just mixed a whole bunch of papers and some how they just all looked great together. At least I think so. The big yellow letters are from Sassafrass. I love how they are big and bold. The little pears are awesome and they are from Creative Impressions. As usual I write on my books and used Sakura for that.

Scrapping my little heart out!!

The creating continues and I couldn't be more happy! Yesterday was such a fun day for me. I literally stayed in my pj's all day and hung out in my room doing NOTHING but scrapping and watching tv. Why? because I felt like it. It was nice to do nothing but fun stuff.
Here are two layouts that I did.

Love how this layout turned out. I used all Crate Paper. Love this paper line!! It's probably one of my favorites they have ever come out with. The colors are so me.
The title I did on my own. I wrote the word with my Sakura Pen and then cut it out.
The colors on the corrugated cardboard are Tattered Angels--glimmer mist and chalk board. Loving the chalkboard!! Wowsers!! The colors really pop!
I sealed the layout with my new favorite toy, Mod Podge Glitter. I can't stop playing with it.
If you're a fan, you need to become a FAN!!!
Here's another layout with Crate Paper. The papers and embellishments are sooo darn stinkin' cute! They fit the picture perfectly. The title is my own. I did the same thing as I did on the layout above. You can't tell but my flowers are domed, I used Glossy Accents to do that.

Happy is the best place to be...mini book project

So I'm not sure what it is, but I've been scrapping like crazy and I love it!!!
Lately my project of choice are mini books. I can't stop creating them. I get an idea and it doesn't matter where I am, I want to start. The last couple of projects have been created on my lap while I'm on my bed. It sounds crazy but it's working for me.
Here's a project I created last night using Punky Sprouts albums and just different papers and embellishments that I had.
All the paper embellishments came from one package. It was filled with a lot of yummy goodies and I couldn't wait to start adding them onto a page.
My new favorite medium to play with? Mod podge glitter. It's easy to use and it dries fast. Couldn't put the stuff down. Every page is sealed with it except the front. I used a different medium. I did squirt a little bit of the glitter on top.
I used a lot of my favorite pictures that put make me feel HAPPY!!!

In love with Nature

Last week my parents were raving about a part of Coyote Hills park that I haven't been to in years! It's so close to my house and yet, I never go there to enjoy the beauty of the hills, flowers, and scenery. My mom insisted we go on Sunday and so everyone met up and off we went on our little hike. It was so beautiful!!
The kids had fun looking for lady bugs and holding their "walking sticks". I enjoyed being with the family in such a pretty place. As usual, I brought my camera and captured these pictures.
I love them all but I especially love the one of my grandson and Sierra together under the I love you sign that we found. I also love the picture of my mom walking with the kids.
I'm going to blow up one for my mom in color.
Which one do you think I should give her?
Going back tomorrow. Can't wait!!

Have a great day!!

Live for today project

Have I mentioned how much I love working with Punky Sprouts? Well in case I haven't, OMG, I really do!!! I love working with these fun albums!! I also love the opportunity of working with so many different paper lines! Each album always looks different.
This was the first time I worked with this album. It's called Rebel Sprout.
Last night I had a couple of hours so I decided to start scrapping with it. I knew exactly what line I was going to use too!! One of my favorite manufactures, Crate Paper. I can't stop playing with it. I'll be teaching a class with them in Texas. Can't wait!!
So here are the pictures. I'm still going to add a little more to it at the crop tonight but I couldn't wait to start!!

Pictures and a layout

There is nothing that makes me more happy than when I can spend time with my family. The other day Ashleigh and Robby came over. I had not seen them in a while. So you know I had to get the camera out and become the paparazzi!
I went nuts taking pictures of them and to no surprise...the pictures came out gorgeous...and I'm not saying that because I take good pictures (which I do by the way, LOL) but because they are gorgeous kids!
Here are some of my favorite shots.

Here's a layout I did last night on my bed.

I'll be scrapping more of these pictures this weekend.
