Turning 9

It's hard to believe that this little beauty is going to be 9 this Sunday!!
We will not only be celebrating Independence day...we'll be celebrating her special day!
I was in the car with her today and I told her how beautiful she was.
She says, "mommy why do you look at me like that when you say that?"
I asked her what I looked like and she replied, "you look at me like I'm the only one in the world right now". I thought about it and I must have looked like that because that's the way I felt when I looked at her sweet face. I love her so much!! She's so special!!

Let me tell you some things about this girl right here.

She finds the beauty in everything around. (she gets that from my dad)

She loves her family and puts everyone first. (she gets that from my mom)

She loves stuffed animals because she's sweet. (like her sister)
she's well rounded. Doesn't care about color, size, or if your a boy or girl. She'll play with everyone. (she gets that from her brother)
She is crafty. (she gets that from me)
Likes to save her money and wants to know the return policy to everything(she gets that from her dad)
She see's the good in everyone and loves her Heavenly Father.
She can't wait to be 12 so she can go into the young woman program at church.

Wants to study hard so she can go to college and learn as much as she can!
Thinks Justin Beamer is cute but can't believe he shaved off his hair!

She wants to have two kids when she gets married. One boy who she wants to name Dillon. One girl who she will name Katrina. Why? Because she likes those names.

Only reads non-fiction books. She loves to study about the earth, the planets, plants,
states, animals, and crystals.
Considers herself to be an adventurer and a "animal whisperer". LOL
Thinks everyone should be nice to one another and gets her feelings hurt if your not.
Sometimes gets annoyed with her nephew Tanner but admitted to me today
that she can't wait til' he goes to Kindergarten because she wants to be the one
to pick him up from his class. Why I asked? "because it's always been my dream to".
Heavenly Father has blessed me with this little soul and I pray that I can be the mommy she needs me to be, to help her grow up to be the Young woman that she wants to be.
I love you baby girl!

Ready...set...go!!!

On Saturday we celebrated Tanner's birthday party at Patterson Park. It's a really fun and clean park next to Patterson Elementary where Sierra goes to school.
We had a great time with all the little kids playing in the jumpy house, the playground,
the pinata, cake, and "the race!"
Years ago when Jeremy was four we had the same themed party car and all but Angel and Christian went crazy wild and decided to turn the cars into
Lightning mcqueen from the movie Cars. The cars came out amazing!!
Here are some pictures but they don't do them justice.
The face, the backs, and the wheels were separate pieces glued together!
Angel had created her own templates and cut them out and Christian painted then put them together. Love the lightning bolts on the side!

The car
The auto shop
Tanner racing
I made license plates and drivers license for each of the kids.
They had to present their license to Christian to get their cars and then they glued the license plate to the back.
Baby Tristan in his car!! SO CUTE!!
All the kids getting ready to parade to their spots and then get ready
for their race.
This is Niko in his car

Tanner with his cute little pinata.
Tanner excited about his cake!!
We had a great time and it was so good to see all the smiling faces!!!
I love that everyone in the family participated in preparing for the party!
Love my little Tanner!!

Friends...

Since For the Luv of Art opened, a lot of amazing people have gotten to know each other very well! We feel extremely grateful for the place that Norma Kennedy has created for us!
We do wonderful challenges and I started one and it was to take a picture of themselves...behind a frame. I told them I would make a video once I got all the pictures. Here's the video.

Update June 29th--I moved the video to the For the Luv of Art site. You can view it there!!!

Hope you like it!!!

The dilema!

Get your popcorn out and get comfy on your couch!!

Directed and photographed by Sierra West, age 8

We present... "The Dilema"

Love At Home

Last week I took Sierra to Color Me Mine. It's a WONDERFUL place that you can paint and decorate ceramic pieces. When you are done they fire them in their kiln. Once they are done they are so beautiful and shiny!
I looked through many different pieces and as soon as i saw this one I knew that was the one I wanted to decorate.
After I painted it, I thought about what I wanted to write to make it more personal.
Immediately I thought of the words, love at home. It's what I always want to feel when I'm in my house. This is what I am striving for, to always feel love here.
It's not always possible to feel this but I know that if we put our family first and always try to choose the right our home will be filled with abundance of love.
I hope that YOUR home is filled with love too!

what's in the name???

I'm excited about new products debuting at CHA!!

Part of the creating process...come up with names for these products.

Shelly and I have had a field day trying to come up with some. I like everything that I do to have a name that feels personal. Well since I'm a pretty wild and crazy gal the names I'm come up with are a little crazy. LOL

We are down to TWO names for one of the books.

I'm excited to show you the sneak peak for another book!!!

The name of this book is called Spunky Sprout.

It was so fun designing with this book!!!

Here's the cover and a sneak peak of the inside!!

When your baby is sick

There is nothing worse than when your baby is sick. You can't sleep, you can't eat, you can't think, you can't do anything but feel sick yourself at the thought of anything hurting your little one. That's how we felt when Sierra started getting sick all of a sudden a couple of days ago.
She was on her bed and I saw that her chest was contracting. It made me really nervous. She was very short of breath and was yellow and because of her medical condition, Hereditary spherocytosis and gilbert's we can't take any chances.
I told Paul that she needed to go to the hospital and he looked at her and agreed. We went in Tuesday and didn't leave until Wednesday evening.
When we got there she couldn't complete a sentence with out needing to try to take a breath and felt horrible. After all the treatments, meds, and lots of love we started seeing a huge improvement.
This was her the next day already starting to get a little better.
After more meds and rest...
When the nurse asked her if she wanted to do some crafts she was so excited!!
The nurse told me that Sierra told her that she loved doing crafts and that she got her creativity from me. SO SWEET!!!
The nurse asked her what she got from her dad...jokingly she said, " hereditary spherocytosis and asthma". It's true. LOL

We would like to thank everyone for their prayers and blessings!!! I believe that it's because of this that she was able to heal so fast!!!
She asked me to thank you and tell you that she loves you all!!!
